Are you sure that your operators are running them at their peak efficiency? A good operator is one who produces maximum results while placing as little stress as possible on the equipment. This saves both down-time and maintenance costs while extending the life of the equipment. In order to determine if your existing staff (or perhaps candidates for hire) are efficient and safe operators, it is prudent that they be evaluated by a certified instructor. Evaluations provide the data necessary to identify whether or not you are delegating work as effectively as possible while isolating concerns within your department.
Evaluating your staff and/or future staff is important to focus your training program and to maximize return on your training investment.
It is recommended that equipment operator evaluations be completed: as concern(s) arise (i.e. if there is a collision or obvious operator inadequacies); with the hiring of new operators to assess their skills; and/or every 2-3 years with no operator concerns.
